I love the way each of you used this blog to share your thoughts about Phil 3:12-21. Isn't it great how we can each read a verse(s) and the Lord shows us each something unique that we can apply to our own personal lives. Thank you all for sharing your thinking and providing all of us a deeper understanding of this verse.

Sorry mine is late, but here are my answers to the 4 questions posed by the text:
1. How does this text help me distinguish truth from error, good from bad?
It shows that there are good examples (Paul) and bad examples (those whose god is their appetites). It states that there good and bad examples to follow after, and what differentiates them is who their God is. Being aware that there is good and evil helps us to begin to search out which is which.
2. What goals does this text ask me to pursue?
It instructs me to leave the past behind and go forward, whether what is behind has been good or bad. One must look forward and keep on walking toward the reward that God has laid up for us. It admonishes me to keep the standards I have attained and reach for more that there might be more purity, more strength, more fruitfulness.
3. Based on what I have read, who should I be?
One who others can take note of and follow our example – one who is living according to the pattern of life in Christ.
4. What should I, personally, do as a result of this text?
Start fresh and walk toward our own finish lines with the intention of finishing the race.
